The Wayfarer 247 was released in May of 2016 as a mid-tech addition to our line of handmade folding knives. We wanted to offer a robust EDC-friendly knife at a lower price point while still having plenty of custom options. Because we don't have any automated equipment at our Visalia, CA shop we quickly realized that CNC machining will have to be involved to make the 247 a reality. After extensive trial and error our search for precision manufacturing led us to Italy which is where components for the Wayfarer 247 are currently machined. All steps involved in making the knife after initial machining are done by hand at our California shop. We call this knife a mid-tech to differentiate it from our customs which do not employ CNC machining of any kind in their creation.
